Cross Strength Ministries Announces Family Crisis Services to be Offered in Mt. Juliet

August 2, 2019

Wilson County is the fastest growing county in Tennessee, with an expected growth rate of 3.5% which means that in accordance with national data trends for the past decade, over 1,020 victims of domestic abuse are moving into the county by the end of the year. Most alarming is that Tennessee has the fourth largest domestic violence related homicide rate in the entire United States– with nearly 10% of all domestic violence murders being committed by a juvenile.

Statistical data shows that 85% of all domestic violence homicides occur when a victim is attempting to leave their home. And the economic impact of domestic violence comes at a cost to Americans of over 6 billion dollars each year.

Redemption. Restoration. Recovery. (R3) Domestic Violence Services and Training is working to open a domestic violence shelter in Wilson County – however, due to the alarming statistics of families in crisis, we have determined that while we continue to raise funds for the shelter – we can and will begin providing services to these families right now.

Services offered by R3 are abuse/violence counseling for female victims and offenders of domestic abuse and sexual assault. In addition, we will be providing resources and referrals for families in need of legal services, transportation, housing, advocacy, addiction services, and pastoral care (church home).

In addition, Holly T. Ashley, founder of R3 will be speaking, educating, and providing resources in the areas of sibling rivalry/abuse (which is the #1 cause of serious injuries to children in America), bullying, and elder abuse. Holly is working to provide on-site mobile services for immediate crisis intervention services as well.

Cross Strength Ministries is a non-profit, 501c3, tax-exempt organization –Redemption. Restoration. Recovery. (R3) Domestic Violence Services and Training is a subsidiary of Cross Strength Ministries and is focused in providing solutions to those affected by domestic violence as well as those families who are in crisis.

As a non-profit, tax-exempt Christian ministry, we will not sign the waiver the government is now requiring for Christian organizations to sign that prevents us from presenting the Gospel of Christ – Therefore we rely exclusively on the blessings of individuals who attend fundraisers and/or donate.
